The future of healthcare is evident in the beautiful design of the 652,000 square foot North Austin Medical Center. This 195-bed facility has been providing outstanding healthcare in the rapidly growing Northern Austin corridor since 1995. North Austin Medical Center (NAMC) is conveniently located at MoPac Expressway and Parmer Lane. The facility offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services on one campus, providing accessibility to both patients and physicians.

NAMC, together with excellent care from physicians, nurses and ancillary staff is able to meet a broad spectrum of patient needs. Specialty inpatient services include a Level II ER, 24-bed intensive care unit, interventional cardiology, surgery, renal transplant, women's and neonatal services. Outpatient services include comprehensive imaging, laboratory, cardiopulmonary and rehabilitation services. Health Grades ranks NAMC as having the highest possible 5-star rating for obstetric care.

In 2002, NAMC completed a $22 million expansion project, more than doubling the space for medical-surgical and maternity services, and increasing licensed bed capacity from 126 to 195. Through the expansion, a Level III Intensive Care Nursery opened. Cardiac services were also enhanced through the creation of an Electrophysiology Lab. In 2003, an emergency fast track program will open for minor injuries and illnesses and neurosurgical services will be re-instituted.

Currently, 840 physicians are on staff at NAMC. In the 2002 4th Quarter NAMC Physician Viewpoint Survey, 97% of physicians said that they would recommend NAMC to their family and friends and the overall physician satisfaction was 92%. A new medical office building adjacent to NAMC's campus will open in late 2003, continuing to add greater convenience and options to the medical staff.
